Bob Update-for those not in the know...
Bob was wailing when he urinates so we took him to the doctor a week ago. We went to the clinic our pediatrician practices out of after being led to believe she was there that day and could maybe sneak him in between appointments depending on how her day was.
Long story short we sat in the clinic three hours to find out our pediatrician was not in that day and ended up with a very rude doctor who was over seeing the drop-in pediatric patients. Ever try to get a two year old to pee in a cup, this was our second challenge after keeping TWINsanity calm from being stuck in this clinic for hours.
Bella tried to ask a question and the doctor shushed her and helped her out of the examination room... Even the nurses at the clinic heard him wailing in the waiting room as we waited and it was not once he wailed in pain but about three times.
We then took Bob to a clinic that was not across town and is about five minutes from home and the doctor at this clinic is one I see on the rare times I feel the need to see a physician. Dr. Malik immediately prescribed a penicillin for Bob and he has been doing better.
We did see his pediatrician last Friday and she is worried if it is a bladder/urinary tract infection that two year old boys do not get these. So she has sent us off to get a renal ultrasound and to see a specialist just to see what is going on. What has her worried was low signs of a staph infection in his original urinary test. Dr. Old thinks it might be because he is not circumsized and wants another urinary test to confirm this. So we have been chasing the little guy around with a pee cup for days...
We have not been getting sleep around here the last week, remarkably they both usually sleep through the night. In the last three nights Bob has been waking up his brother in the middle of the night as well. Bob awoke at 1:30 along with Tom and it took until 4:30 until everyone was back asleep. I am not sure how much longer Bella and I can keep this up especially with her having a full work day... When only one wakes up during the night it is fine and can be handled but three nights of both waking up means the coffee maker which lays dormant most days is working over time and shares in Red Bull are increasing in value.
So we moved TWINsanity into separate rooms last night just on the hopes Bob would no longer wake up Tom. They were due to be put in separate rooms anyway as they will be moving from their cribs to as we call them "big boy beds". This also means their kitten can finally sleep with one of them the little beggar is routinely found in one of the cribs when we put them down...
Bob went for bloodwork yesterday the little man is tougher than a two dollar steak he never even cried when they took two vials of blood. We also had his ultrasound scheduled for January 31 and were bumped to today at 2:20pm (smack dab in the middle of nap time). We see his doctor next Thursday but if all of the test results are back I am going to ask if we can go in earlier.
So the separate rooms experiment was a success and hopefully Tommy's snoring and Bob's urinary thing were what kept waking each other up... They slept through the night and so did Bella & I. I had to check with Bella I did not have a coma sleep and she was left wrangling both of them in the middle of the night last night... Thankfully we all had a coma sleep and slept through the night...
Bob & I went for his renal ultrasound and were a few minutes late for the appointment today. The Dr. who performed the examiniation was the same one who informed Bella and I we were having twins almost three years ago. Bob was not as solid of a trooper as he was for blood work but in the end charmed the pants off everyone in the clinic. Test results show absolutely no damage to his kidneys and that he is fine. So I am going to call the peditrician tomorrow and ask what is going on? My line of non-medical educated thinking is that Dr. Malik caught it early enough with penicillin and saved the day. I will reserve thoughs on this until I speak to the Pediatrician tomorrow as she will also have the blood test results tomorrow as well or should have.
Thankfully Bob is not wailing anymmore when he urinates and we can hopefully find out what this was all about...
